Qualifying Bet and Strategy
We will treat this bet a simple Bet X Get X offer. All we need to do is back and lay a qualifying bet and extract our profit from any £5.00 free bets we receive. As usual we will be finding a close match to place our qualifying bet on. This offer will tie up liquidity for the entire Premier League season so it may be better to place our qualifying bet without laying if your bank roll is small. We should expect to see a few £5.00 free bets covering all of our qualifying bet with the shot of winning big if our selection goes on to be the Top Goalscorer for the season.
However, if you have a big enough bank roll and feel more comfortable in laying the selection then that is entirely up to you. For this example we will be placing our qualifying bet on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at back odds of 8.0 and lay odds of 8.2.
Please note: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang represents a good value each way bet as the back and lay odds are so close. We could place a £5.00 each way bet on this selection and only lay the win part of the selection. This means we would only need to see 2 goals to make a small profit, while our £5.00 place part of the bet will run until the end of the season with the possibility of our selection coming in the top 4. This method will also tie up less liquidity at the exchange.

As we can see by the calculator, if we place a £10.00 back bet of 8.00 and a lay bet of 8.20 our qualifying loss will be £0.42 whether Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the 2019/2020 season Top Goalscorer or not.
It’s worth noting that if we combine Top Goalscorer offers from various bookmakers we can lower our liability by placing bets on different selections. This is because only one player can be the top goalscorer (a tied finish will result in dead heat rules), so we only need enough of a bank roll to cover the player with the largest liability exposure.
