  • Maximum winnings £50.00 plus qualifying stake.

Qualifying Bet and Strategy

For this offer we will be placing a simple qualifying bet. At the time of writing this guide England were available at odds of 2.40/2.54.

To calculate our optimal stake for this offer we need to divide the winnings of £50.00 by our back odds – 1. For the odds of 2.4 our calculation should look like this: £50.00 – 1.4 = £35.71. We should round this figure up or down as to not look like we are solely betting the minimum or maximum for the offer so we shall be using a £35.00 stake.

We can enter our details for the qualifying bet on the Matched Betting Calculator as follows: Stake £35.00, England back odds 2.40, England lay odds 2.54, lay commission 2%.

As you can see the calculator tells us to lay £33.33 on England.

Our potential profit/loss for this offer breaks down as the following:

Outcome William Hill Exchange Profit/Loss
England don’t score first and win +£49.00 -£51.33 -£2.33
England don’t score first and lose -£35.00 +£32.66 -£2.34
England score first and win +£49.00 -£51.33 -£2.33
England score first and lose or draw +£49.00 +32.66 +£81.66

What happens next?

As you can see by the table above, if England score first but draw or lose the game our bet will still be paid out as a winner. We’ll receive our £49.00 in winnings plus our original qualifying stake of £35.00. We’ll also win £32.66 at the exchange meaning a total profit of £81.66!

If any of the other outcomes occur we stand to lose £2.34. We can however use alternative methods to make a profit if England score first and win, check out the Golden Goal Guide for more information.
