Qualifying Bet and Strategy
For this offer we will be placing a simple qualifying bet. At the time of writing this guide Chelsea were available at odds of 3.50/3.75.
To calculate our optimal stake for this offer we need to divide the winnings of £25.00 by our back odds – 1. For the odds of 3.5 our calculation should look like this: £25.00 / 2.5 = £10.00. Luckily for us this gives us the perfect staking amount as it’s always best to keep stake amounts to rounded figures.
We can enter our details for the qualifying bet on the Matched Betting Calculator as follows: Stake £10.00, Chelsea back odds 3.50, Chelsea lay odds 3.75, lay commission 2%.
|If Back Wins|
|If Lay Wins|
As you can see the calculator tells us to lay £9.38 on Chelsea.
Our potential profit/loss for this offer breaks down as the following:
|Chelsea don’t score first and win||+£25.00||-£25.79||-£0.79|
|Chelsea don’t score first and lose||-£10.00||+£9.19||-£0.81|
|Chelsea score first and win||+£25.00||-£25.79||-£0.79|
|Chelsea score first and lose or draw||+£25.00||+9.19||+£34.19|
What happens next?
As you can see by the table above, if Chelsea score first but draw or lose the game our bet will still be paid out as a winner. We’ll receive our £25.00 in winnings plus our original qualifying stake of £10.00. We’ll also win £9.19 at the exchange meaning a total profit of £34.19!
If any of the other outcomes occur we stand to lose £0.81. We can however use alternative methods to make a profit if England score first and win, check out the Golden Goal Guide for more information.
